John James brings nine years of hotel brokerage and commercial real estate experience to Mumford Company’s Charleston, South Carolina office. A seasoned hotel investment sales specialist, John focuses his practice on hotel acquisitions and dispositions throughout the Southeast, serving hotel owners, hospitality investors, and real estate developers looking to buy or sell hotel properties across the region.
Prior to joining Mumford Company, John spent six years with Avison Young’s Hospitality Group in Atlanta, Georgia, where he built deep expertise in hotel investment sales, hospitality asset marketing, and Southeast hotel market dynamics. This experience, combined with his tenure at Mumford Company, gives John a comprehensive command of hotel valuation, hotel transaction strategy, and hospitality real estate investment across multiple markets.
In 2024, John relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, where he plays a key role in expanding Mumford Company’s presence in the Charleston hotel market and broader Southeast hospitality real estate landscape. His regional knowledge and transaction experience make him a trusted advisor for clients navigating hotel sales, hotel acquisitions, and hospitality investment opportunities throughout Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, and surrounding markets.
A 2015 graduate of the University of Georgia, John holds active commercial real estate licenses in Virginia, Georgia, and South Carolina, positioning him as a uniquely versatile resource for clients operating across multiple Southeast real estate markets.
