Mumford Company is pleased to announce the sale of the Comfort Suites of Newport, Kentucky recently. Steve Kirby and Ed James, principals in the firm represented the seller, an entity owned by Musselman Hotels. This was the third hotel structured by Mumford Company on behalf of Musselman Hotels. The purchaser, an entity owned by Atlanta based Banyan Investment Group of Atlanta plans to renovate and reconfigure the property but still will utilize the Comfort Suites brand. Atlanta based, Steve Kirby of Mumford stated, “It was a pleasure working on this off market project with each of these groups. Relationships spanning decades and generations, on each side of the transaction, worked together to structure the fee simple deal from a long term land lease with the city of Newport.”
