Mumford Company once again represented Supertel Hospitality in the recent sale of the Super 8 Motel of Charles City, Iowa. The property was purchased by HR Corporation of Iowa. Advising the seller were David Mumford and Ed James of the Mumford Company’s Newport News, Virginia office and Lance Potter of the firm’s Chicago, Illinois office. This is the 28th hotel sold by Mumford Company on behalf of Supertel, over the past 10 years, and the 3rd hotel that Mumford Company has sold to the principals of HR Corporation.
As a former “Pride of Super 8” award winner the property will undergo cosmetic renovations. The purchasers plan to retain the Super 8 franchise and to continue building the business at this location which has minimal branded competition in the market.
